You can delete your Borago Board account and the data held with it at any time. There are two ways to ask, and neither needs the app to be installed.

In the app or on the web

Sign in, in the mobile app or at https://board.boragosoft.com.
Open your Profile, then Account.
Choose Delete account and pick one of the options shown:
- Disable keeps the account recoverable for 6 months.
- Terminate keeps it recoverable for 14 days.
- Terminate and delete everything now is immediate and cannot be undone. It asks for your password and a second code, from your authenticator app or sent to your account email.

By email

Write to privacy@boragosoft.com from the email address of the account and ask for it to be deleted. We may ask you to confirm that you control the address, and we respond within the time the law that applies to you allows.

What is deleted

Everything the account owns on the hosted service: your profile and email address, projects, tasks, comments, notes, conversations, attachments and their files, stored settings, and any remaining credits.

With delete everything now, this happens at once.
With disable or terminate, sync and billing stop at once. The data is deleted after the recovery period (6 months or 14 days) and a further 14-day hold, unless you reactivate the account first.

An email confirms the deletion when it is complete.

What is kept, and for how long

Billing records (amounts, dates and an internal account number, with no board content) are kept for tax, accounting and fraud prevention.
Backups of the hosted service age out within 30 days of the deletion.
Diagnostic reports you chose to send carry no account identifier, so we cannot look them up by account. If you tell us what you sent and when, we can find one by its content and time and delete it. Otherwise they are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Data on your own devices

Deleting the account does not reach into your devices. The mobile app stores only a sign-in token, which is removed when you log out or uninstall the app. A board kept by the desktop app stays on your computer until you remove it, see Uninstalling Borago Board.

Deleting some data without deleting the account

You can delete a project, and everything in it, from the board at any time. It is kept for 30 days so it can be restored, then permanently deleted. For anything else, write to privacy@boragosoft.com.
