Scope

This notice covers this website only. The Borago Board desktop app and the optional cloud service have their own privacy policies, shown in the app and at sign-up. The mobile app's policy is published at boragoboard.com/privacy/mobile/.

What this site does not do

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. There are no accounts, no forms, and nothing to accept, which is why you see no cookie banner. The download page detects your operating system locally in your browser to suggest the right download; nothing about that is sent or stored anywhere.

What is processed

The site is static files served from a content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront/S3). Like effectively all web hosting, serving a page or a download produces standard access logs: your IP address, browser user-agent, the URL requested, and a timestamp. We use these only to operate the service and to detect abuse, and we look at them in aggregate (for example, download counts). They are retained briefly and are not combined with any other data. Where EU/UK law applies, our legal basis is legitimate interest in running and securing the site.

After you uninstall the desktop app

The desktop app keeps its data on your machine and none of it reaches this site. It is described here because "what is left after I remove the app" is a privacy question, and this is where people look for the answer.

Removing the app removes the app. It does not remove your boards, your project files, your stored credentials, or anything Docker. That is deliberate: an update is a remove followed by an install, and a remove that deleted your boards would delete them on every update. It is also easy to miss, and what stays is large (a project's container image can run to gigabytes) and sensitive (the database holds your encrypted provider credentials), so it is written down here.

After an uninstall these stay on your machine until you delete them yourself:

Your boards and database: every project, task, comment and chat, plus the secret journal and the whole-board restore points.
Your project files: each project's Docker files and workspace.
Docker, gVisor and every project container, image, volume and network, exactly as they were.

Reinstalling picks all of it up again.
