Pricing
The desktop app is free. Cloud sync is the paid part. Your AI provider bills you directly, with no markup.
| Plan | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Desktop app | Free | Everything that runs on your machine. The board, the agent, containers, the terminal, scripts, flows, notes, local models, browser access on your own network. No account needed. |
| Basic | $5 a month | Cloud sync. The board in any browser and on your phone. Containers, terminals, scripts and chat from anywhere while your desktop is online. No file attachments on the cloud. |
| Pro | $15 a month | Everything in Basic, plus files on tasks and the history of every run on the cloud. 10 GB of attachment storage. |
| Max | $20 a month | Everything in Pro, with 40 GB of attachment storage. Four times the room. |
Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax, which is added at checkout where it applies. Pro and Max can also be paid yearly at a discount, up to 10% on Pro and up to 20% on Max. Basic is monthly only. The cloud board shows the exact price, monthly or yearly, before you pay anything.
How the trial works
- Month 1, free. A 30-day trial of Max starts when you create a cloud account. No card.
- Month 2, $5, optional. One more month of Max, once per account. It is a single payment that saves your card and renews nothing.
- Month 3, your choice. Pick Basic, Pro or Max. With the saved card it is one tap, and a confirm names the price and the date of the charge first. The plan starts when the paid month ends.
You get a reminder before each trial month ends. If you do nothing, cloud sync and the cloud board close when the trial ends. The desktop app keeps working and nothing on it is lost.
What you also pay
Your AI provider. Runs use your own Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or Grok API key and the provider bills you at its own rates. Borago Board adds nothing. Every run records its estimated cost and a per-project budget pauses the queue when it is reached. A model on your own hardware costs nothing per run.
The small print, in plain words
- Plans differ only in what they store. Support is best effort for everyone, and no plan promises a response time.
- A failed renewal keeps sync working for 30 days while you fix the card. If the first payment after the trial fails, you keep the trial's plan for 7 days while it is collected.
- Subscribing during the trial keeps the trial. The first payment is taken when the trial ends, and the plan starts once it is collected. Until then you have Max, the trial's plan.
- Pro and Max earn a loyalty discount of up to 10% as your paid time grows. It is applied automatically, is never taken away while the subscription continues, and adds to the yearly discount. Basic earns none.
- Max can add storage in blocks, 40 GB for $10 a month or 200 GB for $40 a month, up to five of each. Add or remove them from the subscription on the cloud board. A block bills with the plan, monthly or yearly at the same yearly discount as Max, is charged for the rest of the current period when you add it, and earns no loyalty discount.
- Storage is per account. You get a notice at 80, 90, 95 and 99% and when it is full. At the limit new uploads are refused and nothing is deleted. Moving to a plan with less room deletes nothing either, but new files are refused while you are over its limit.
- Moving to Basic, or a trial that ends with no plan, puts the attachments stored in the cloud on hold for 90 days, with reminders before they are deleted. Choose a plan with attachments in that time and they come back. When you move to Basic you can instead have them deleted at once.
- A subscription keeps the price it was bought at. If existing subscriptions are ever moved to a new price, you get at least 30 days' notice by email first and can cancel before it applies.
- Your first payment, whether the $5 second month or a plan, can be refunded in full if you ask within 14 days. This refund is once per account. The details are in the Cloud Terms.
